The SeaRail 19 was conceived by Phil Medley who has had 20 years’ experience building trimarans at a world leading trailerable trimaran company. Arguably, this has given Phil more experience in building production trimarans than anyone else in the world.
In developing the SeaRail 19, Phil worked very closely with world renowned multihull designer, Nigel Irens from Nigel Irens Design, the Specialists in designing the extraordinary. Nigel has incorporated many of the same advances in hull design and balance that he has used on his larger, record setting, models.
Nigel Irens' design has been combined with Phil's extensive hands-on production trailer trimaran knowledge to create a very simple retracting/folding system and mast raising/lowering system. The result? The SeaRail 19 can be transferred from the trailer to the water, or vice versa, ready to sail, in just 15 easy minutes.
The project brief for the SeaRail 19 was to design an exciting entry level trimaran that would captivate the imagination of the wider market; a market tiring of the slower, less responsive alternatives.
